Founded by Maishah Hendrix, Asanteworks PR brings over three decades of experience in public relations, artist development and event planning. After honing her PR experience with First Priority Music where she helped promote Audio 2, MC Lyte, The Alliance of MCs and Positive K, Maishah worked as a music journalist for a number of publications before working with her mentor Angelo Ellerbee, founder and CEO of Double XXPosure Public Relations. Under his guidance she assisted in coordinating networking and media relations for Antonio Fargas, Brenda K. Starr, and Sybil to name a few. As a journalist, she has been published in the Amsterdam News, Washington Afro, Essence Magazine and Urban Ink, among other publications. Today Asanteworks PR  has expanded to management and handles representation for several artists including Marcus Machado, Jermane Holmes and Moon Newbill.

KHIARRA JOHNSTON

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Khiarra (you can call her Khi!) is a recent graduate from Marymount Manhattan holding three degrees: Public Relations, Cinema, TV and Emerging Media, and Digital Media and Video Production. Additionally, she holds a minor in Law and Ethics. Khi has been involved in the entertainment industry from a young age, as she started performing as a dancer when she was three, and pursued acting by age 14. Ironically enough, Acting school made Khi fall in love with the action behind the camera, and she aspires to be a creative director of her own music video production company, or practice entertainment law by representing young artists trying to break into the industry. When she isn’t slaying the virtual To-Do list with Ms. Hendrix, you can find Khi listening to BTS or playing with her two dogs Koda and Laboon.
